Vylgort Whistle

Vylgort village is a suburb of Syktyvkar, the capital of the Komi Republic. This village was the center for Komi pottery; it consisted of several hamlets, each of which had its own specialists. The potters lived and worked in the center of Vylgort, a district known as Vichkodor. These clay toys were described during the 1973 expedition of the Russian Museum of Ethnography.
